One mission. Twelve places it touches.

Our work spans four continents, anchored in the United Kingdom, delivered through trusted local partners across the Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa and the Balkans.

How we choose where to work

Hayat Charity does not work everywhere. We work where our impact can be greatest — where need is acute, where local partners are ready, and where our presence adds something that would otherwise be missing. Every country in our footprint has been chosen on the basis of three core questions:

  • Where is humanitarian need at its sharpest, and where are existing systems least able to meet it?
  • Where do we have the local partnerships and operational expertise to deliver responsibly?
  • Where can our resources, programmes and supporter community make a measurable, lasting difference?

This page sets out our current operational footprint. It is reviewed continually as need shifts and our partnerships grow.

Our footprint

We currently operate across twelve countries. Below is a brief picture of why each one matters to us, and what shapes our work there.

Turkey

Turkey faces ongoing economic pressure and hosts one of the world's largest displaced populations. Our work supports economic empowerment, education, and healthcare access — particularly for refugee and host-community families navigating financial hardship.

Jordan

Jordan hosts a substantial refugee population and contends with deep socioeconomic strain. We focus on education, healthcare, and economic-integration support to help displaced families build self-sufficiency and stability.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh is one of the most disaster-prone nations on earth, with persistent poverty and malnutrition. We deliver targeted WASH, nutrition and emergency-response interventions that strengthen community resilience to floods, cyclones and food insecurity.

India

India is home to a vast number of marginalised people in rural villages and underserved urban areas. We invest in education, healthcare and women's empowerment programmes that open opportunities for those most often left behind.

Chad

Chad faces severe food insecurity compounded by conflict and climate change. Our work focuses on food assistance and sustainable agricultural practices that improve livelihoods and protect families during the lean season.

Indonesia

Indonesia's geography brings beauty — and frequent natural disasters. We deliver disaster preparedness, nutrition and health-services programmes that protect vulnerable communities and build resilience to recurring shocks.

Albania

Albania faces high unemployment and significant regional economic inequality. Our work centres on skills development, entrepreneurship, and community empowerment to widen economic opportunity, especially for young people.

Kosovo

Kosovo grapples with unemployment and limited access to education and healthcare in rural areas. We focus on vocational training, youth empowerment and rural healthcare services that strengthen long-term stability.

Bosnia

Bosnia and Herzegovina lives with the long shadow of conflict, political fragility and economic difficulty. We support youth education, job creation, and community cohesion, investing in a generation building beyond inherited divisions.

United Kingdom

Our home base. Hayat Charity is registered with the Charity Commission for England & Wales, the UK is where we mobilise our supporter community, fundraise, and uphold the governance and accountability standards that underpin every programme we deliver overseas.

How we deliver — wherever we work

Our model is the same everywhere we operate. We work through trusted local partners — community-based organisations, NGOs, healthcare providers, and educators who already know their context, language and people.

Our role is to fund, resource, build capacity, and uphold the standards of governance, monitoring and reporting that supporters rightly expect of an international charity.

Local partners know what works. Our role is to resource, support and amplify.

Every programme, whether it is an emergency food distribution in Chad or a vocational training initiative in Kosovo — is anchored in a structured needs assessment, delivered against measurable outcomes, and reported back to donors and the communities we serve.

Stand with us.

Whether you give, partner, or volunteer, your support is the reason this work reaches the families who need it most.
